October is National Roller Skating Month and here in San
Francisco, “ROLLIGION” is spreading at the Church of 8
Wheels Roller Disco. This former Catholic church is now the
scene where people are rediscovering just how much fun
shaking your groove thang with wheels on your feet can be.
There’s no bar, no alcohol, no food or snack bar and yet is
one of the hottest night spots in the City winning 5 “Beat
of the Bay” awards in their short 2 year existence.
The “Apostles” (certified skate instructors) of the Church
of 8 Wheels will honor National Roller Skating Month by
offering the public free roller skating lessons at the
Church on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 1PM until 2PM. We will also
have the instructors available
during the afternoon Family session from 3PM to 5PM offering
free skate instruction to anyone in need!!! If ever there
was a time for you to learn to get your skate groove on,
THIS IS IT!!!
The lessons will be led by D. Miles Jr. the “GodFather of
Skate“ and supported by the best instructors around that
have been trained and certified by the Skate Instructors
Association. Admission and skate instruction is free.
Participants can bring their own skates, or you can rent
skates for $10.
Come on out and celebrate National Roller Skating Month at
the Church of 8 Wheels and learn to skate from the best –
FOR FREE!!! |
